The 12DaysinMarch Curriculum
In Organ Systems, you are taught traditional medical content with an end-of-block exam that derives from that material. In 12Days, the content is developed based upon USMLE Step One expectations. That is, the curriculum is specifically designed working backward from Step One exam content. All the material was chosen because it repeatedly appears on Step One exams. As such, you will not hear the phrase ‘high yield‘…the content, by definition, is chosen based on that premise.
This material was developed with the assumption you have completed Organ System lectures at your home institution. It was not developed to be a primary learning source. It can certainly be used as an Organ Systems companion but the materials are specifically designed to bridge the gap between what you are taught in Organ Systems and how the USMLE will test that material (i.e. applications). It is this gap, between traditional Organ System lectures and USMLE expectations, that form the foundation of these presentations. The traditional best selling review manuals leave a similar gap. They highlight what you should know but not how you need to know it.
The 12Days Teaching Method Focuses On:
-
- The Language of the Boards (‘how they will come after you…’)
- Key Buzzwords and Buzzphrases
- The Unique Application of Pathophysiologic Principles
